It was the garden gazebo of his Vestavia estate for which the City is named. In his garden it was the entrance to a bird sanctuary and it was the scene of many colorful parties. The church’s present-day structure is a classic example of the Gothic Revival style of architecture. It features a pointed-arched entrance, stained glass windows, a bell tower, and ornate decorations. The inside is equally impressive and boasts original wood beams and a beautiful pipe organ. The church’s sanctuary can seat over 500 people, and it has multiple classrooms, an assembly hall, and a kitchen for hosting social events and celebrations.
